FAQs

The LiberNovo Omni is the world’s first dynamic ergonomic chair, featuring a Bionic FlexFit backrest and chip-controlled dynamic support, powered by a battery to provide real-time adjustments for personalized comfort. In contrast, the Herman Miller Aeron relies on a static mesh design, the Steelcase Leap offers manual lumbar adjustments, and the Humanscale Freedom has a simpler auto-recline feature. Omni’s dynamic tracking technology adapts to your movements, delivering a more flexible and comfortable experience.

Omni’s Bionic FlexFit backrest, powered by an integrated chip, offers 6 dynamic adjustment modes, with an 80mm backrest and 100mm seat depth adjustment, precisely conforming to your spine for all-day comfort.

The Omni is equipped with a 2200mAh 12V built-in battery, and its battery life depends on usage: with 1 full traction stretch cycle per day, the battery lasts up to 30 days; if you only occasionally use the motor adjustment buttons (e.g., 3 adjustments per day), the battery can last up to 1 year. The battery powers the chip-controlled dynamic and massage features, requiring minimal charging, making it ideal for extended office or home use.

The Omni offers an electric massage with a 50mm deep spinal stretch, controlled by the chip-driven backrest movement, precisely relieving back tension. Unlike the static support of Herman Miller or Humanscale chairs, Omni’s massage feature provides a relaxing experience during breaks, similar to the soothing effects of a high-end massage chair.

Yes, the Omni is designed for prolonged sitting. Its dynamic support encourages micro-movements, reducing fatigue from static postures. The zoned foam seat cushion, with three hardness levels (firm at the back to support the sit bones, softer at the front to reduce leg pressure), improves blood circulation, matching the comfort of the Steelcase Leap but with smarter dynamic adjustments.

Omni’s Bionic FlexFit backrest and three-layer conforming design (skin-friendly elastic layer, pressure-relief wrapping layer, and 8 aerospace-grade elastic panels) provide soft yet deep back support, similar to the pixelated design of the Herman Miller Embody but with greater dynamism. The hydrophilic foam headrest offers 5kg of neck support, breathable and comfortable, surpassing the fixed neck support of the Aeron. User feedback indicates Omni’s seat cushion is thicker than the Aeron’s, ideal for those who prefer a softer feel.

Yes, Omni’s dynamic support, with 6 modes and 60 real-time adjustments (80mm backrest, 100mm seat depth), conforms to the spine, reducing lower back pressure, similar to the adjustable lumbar system of the Steelcase Leap. The spinal massage feature further alleviates tension, making it ideal for users with back pain from prolonged sitting. Additionally, the zoned seat cushion optimizes pressure on the sit bones and legs, preventing discomfort.

The Omni is easy to assemble, requiring only the provided simple tools and taking about 15-20 minutes to complete. The assembly process is comparable to the 15-20 minutes required for the Herman Miller Aeron or Steelcase Gesture, with Omni offering clear instructions and online support to ensure a hassle-free setup.

The Omni is designed for users between 5'2" and 6'3" (approximately 158-190cm) and weighing up to 300 lbs. Its dynamic adjustments automatically adapt to various body types, similar to the multi-size options of the Herman Miller Aeron. Note: Users taller than 1.8m may find it less suitable, as the chair is optimized for ergonomics for those under 1.8m.

The Omni offers an optional comfort footrest in two heights (6cm for users 170-180cm, 10cm for users 153-169cm), tailored to the common 75cm fixed desk height in Asia, ensuring an ergonomic sitting posture. The footrest enhances leg comfort, similar to Humanscale’s footrest accessory, but Omni’s height options are more precise.

The Omni features a breathable mesh backrest and a hydrophilic foam headrest, ensuring air circulation to keep you cool during long sitting sessions. The mesh design is similar to the Pellicle mesh of the Aeron, but Omni’s three-layer conforming structure is softer, balancing breathability and support.

Omni’s premium foam armrests are thick, soft, and durable, offering excellent support without deformation. Compared to the adjustable armrests of the Steelcase Gesture, Omni’s armrests prioritize a softer touch, ideal for prolonged use.

The Omni is equipped with silent wheels that glide smoothly on any floor without scratching or making noise, similar to Steelcase’s high-quality wheelsets. Whether in an office or at home, you can easily reposition the chair without disrupting your work.

The Omni offers 4 recline settings, adjustable from 105° to 160°, suitable for working, gaming, or relaxing. Compared to the automatic recline of the Humanscale Freedom, Omni’s multi-setting options provide greater flexibility for different scenarios.

The Omni uses a high-strength frame and durable mesh, with a maximum weight capacity of 275 lbs, ensuring long-term reliability. It comes with a 5-year warranty on the chair frame (excluding electronic components) and a 2-year warranty on electronic components (battery, actuator, and related wiring), providing peace of mind for daily use.

Yes, Omni’s modern design and dynamic comfort make it ideal for both home offices and professional settings. Its silent wheels and sleek appearance rival high-end chairs from Herman Miller and Steelcase, blending practicality with aesthetics.

The LiberNovo Omni comes with a comprehensive warranty: a 5-year limited warranty on the chair frame (excluding electronic components) and a 2-year limited warranty on electronic components (battery, actuator, and related wiring). The warranty period starts from the date of purchase (as confirmed by your proof of purchase). Under normal use, if a quality issue arises due to non-human factors, we offer free repair or replacement parts. For more details, please see our Warranty Policy.

A MasterClass in Human Factors Engineering

My R&D team recently moved into a brand new building with brand new office furniture. We were given Herman Miller Aeron chairs ($1,500), and almost unanimously all ~80 people hated that chair. I can say this is the most uncomfortable chair I have ever sat in.

We ordered a few other chairs for people to evaluate & pick from to replace their Aeron, these include: Herman Miller Embody, Hon Ignition, & Knoll Generation. At the time we were doing this, somehow the Kickstarter for LiberNovo Omni came across my phone. Of course I was intrigued, because on the Kickstarter that chair was cheaper than any of the alternatives with the exception of the Hon Ignition. Most people chose the Hon Ignition as their replacement to the Aeron.

It was a giant leap of faith for a company to go all in on a Kickstarter chair, so that wasn’t an option for us. However, I had a terrible office chair at home that needed to be replaced and I became a backer of my first ever Kickstarter.

About a month later, the add-on footrest arrived. It was well packaged with excellent assembly instructions. About 5 minutes after unboxing it found a home under my office desk, a comfortable welcome addition and something I didn’t know I needed. If the fabric was any indication of what was going to be on the chair, this was going to be a winner.

A week after that the chair arrived. Again, it was packaged perfectly with very clear assembly instructions. Unboxing the chair, it was obvious that attention to detail was top of mind. All plastic feels like it’s a high grade Nylon, the hardware is custom designed for this chair and there are only 2 screw types. Both have the same Allen head, and a nice tool is included with the chair, no need to get your own tools out to assemble. The fabric is a very soft microfiber feel with ample padding in all the right areas.

I plugged in the battery and sat down. Immediately it is the most comfortable office chair I have ever sat in. It might be one of the most comfortable chairs I’ve ever sat in period. I cycled the lumbar support then reclined the chair and put it into OmniStretch Massage mode. Absolute magic! This chair is a master class in human factors engineering.

I came out of the room and said to my wife “that thing is a game-changer”. She sat in it and her comment after 5 minutes was “everybody needs one of these”. Reclining the chair fully, using the top position on the footrest and engaging OmniStretch while you have some headphones on listening to music is now a favorite way to unwind from the day.

My only regret is that I didn’t order 2, one for home and one to replace my replacement chair at work.

The most comfortable chair for tall people... with minor issues

I would definitely rate this as the most comfortable chair I have ever used. One of the most important differences is that it was actually designed to accomodate people of my height (~6'2"). Every other office chair I have used always stopped a bit too low and would really have only been good for people under 6'.

A repeated complaint I have heard from other people (both my height and much shorter) is that they feel like they are sliding out of the chair. I personally can't say I have ever felt that way but it is something to keep in mind since so many people complain about.

There have been some issues, both in pre-production and in the Kickstarter batch but the LiberNovo team has been quick to resolve them. For example, the pre-production units had shorter seats and the armrests sliders didn't have much resistance.

More relevant for people at this time is that the clip holding the upper part of the backrest isn't quite the correct size and has a tendancy to pop out. I'm guessing it is a more common issue when arch support is set fairly high. The chairs have really only been out in the world for a few weeks but they already have a free replacement version that you can request from [****]. I will be taking advantage of that soon, so hopefully it doesn't take too long to receive.

Supreme Comfort

I have tried a number of chairs from Steelcase and Herman Miller. This is the most comfortable by far, offering great support everywhere at a tremendous value. Other chairs would invariably hurt my tailbone and the recline was never satisfying without a headrest. The headrest and the footrest turn this into a comfort behemoth. The adjustable lumbar support is nice although I haven't used it too much.

Downsides? There is a lot of plastic and some of the pieces wobble a bit. The armrests move around too easily so I am constantly readjusting them. So other chairs are a bit more premium in their construction but at the end of the day that doesn't matter more than comfort to me and this chair reigns supreme.

Easy to install and put together too! Was worried about that but no problem at all.

Insane Value Proposition - Almost a perfect chair

For the price, this is a PHENOMENAL chair. The ergonomics are amazing, the lumbar support fits me just right, and the visuals of this chair look so cool!

- The headrest and arms follow you on your lean back, causing it to feel extremely comfortably in reclined positions. The fact this comes with the headrest free and that it is so manueverable is insane! I do wish though that the headrest could come just a bit more forward, as I tend to sit up and forward when playing games or really focused.

- Lumbar adjusts easily, and provides more than enough support for any back.

- I do wish that when reclined, the stretch feature went just a BIT deeper, but it still feels great to my lower back after a long day and the battery appears to hold a great charge.

Cons:

- I am 5'8" and 250 lbs. Unfortunately, the seat just isn't as deep as I'd like it to be. The shell doesn't go as far forward as the cushion, so your thighs feel kinda like they're gonna slide off. Using the leg rest from them does help alleviate this issue, but does not fully mitigate it. For this reason, I am going to be getting the smaller seat, just to not have to feel the mushy end. Libernovo, please make and offer an upgraded seat that is deeper and has more of the hard bottom supporting it! Preferably at a lower cost to us who owned one before it came out~.

Exceeded my expectations!!

Exceeded my expectations!! I have had many office chairs and had to constantly modify them to get them remotely comfortable. I was so excited when I saw this chair on Kickstarter as it seemed the dynamic design solved all of the problems I have been having with previous chairs. I took the risk and invested even though I had not used Kickstarter before. I'm happy to report that the chair is amazing, smart design, comfortable, flexible/dynamic, and great quality. It is worth the cost!

Super Comfortable!

I love this chair. I've never been satisfied with a office chair until now. I was worried about ordering one due to the fact you had to assemble it. The directions were very easy to follow. I had it put together in less a 1/2 hour. I really can't say enough about this chair. I've recommended this chair to all my gaming friends. I've only had the chair for a short time so I'm hoping it holds up well.

Solved my back and hip problems

I have always had back and hip problems, and I work from home at my computer all day, so a good ergonomic chair is important to me. I used a Steelcase Gesture for a couple years and really liked it, but i still had some lingering hip issues, and often had to adjust how i was sitting.

After upgrading to the LiberNovo about a month ago, i can honestly say it's perfect for me. The way the back rest shapes itself to my back and provides proper support no matter how I'm sitting, has completely erased that lingering hip pain.

The headrest is great with how tall it can go, although i do wish it could come forward a slight bit more. The arm rests are pretty standard with their adjustments. There are four angles for leaning back, the last is almost completely laying down and used for the lumbar stretch/massage. You can set the right amount of resistance for leaning back at each level. The battery powered lumbar adjustment and massage feature are a nice cherry on top.

The chair is easy to assemble (i did it alone in about twenty minutes), and the materials are generally pretty sturdy. All the tools you need are included.

The only real gripe i have is that if you lean too far to the right or left while putting pressure on the back rest, the plastic piece holding it to the frame can come loose and you need to pop it back in. This was easily resolved by using some cable ties to keep the plastic piece attached to the frame.

This is hands down the best ergonomic computer chair i have used, and after spending on average ten hours a day in it for over a month, my back and hip pain is gone.

Very comfortable i am 6' and a bit bigger 280lbs

Very comfortable i am 6' and a bit bigger 280lbs when seated the back of my knees where it bends are about 2 to 3 inches over the edge of the seat which only slightly affects comfortably best headrest ive experienced in a office/gaming chair love the footrest and lumbar massage.

The chair is honestly worth the money

The chair is honestly worth the cash and money it beats my old gamer style chair to a degree that is silly. It is honestly so comfortable to sit in.

Best. Chair. Ever.

I needed a new desk chair and this one looked very promising, so I backed it on Kickstarter. I'm always a bit skeptical of what I will get from those Kickstarter pledges. Generally I have been very happy, but every once in a while you end up with something that is not quite what you expected.

This is one of those times, but in a good way. I could not have expected how wonderful an experience receiving, assembling, and enjoying the LibraNovo Omni would be. After having a disk replaced in my neck last year, the doctor advised that it was probably due to all the hours I spent sitting at my desk. So a chair with neck support (which my old chair lacked) was imperative. I could not be more happy. The neck rest on the LibraNovo is adjustable both in height and horizontally, making it perfect to support my neck.

But the joy does not stop there. The chair has wonderful (adjustable) lumbar support and an amazing massage feature. The accompanying foot pedestal provides a place to rest my feet both when working and reclining. Such a simple, but well thought out design.

The assembly couldn't have been easier with one of the most innovative assembly instruction setups I have ever seen.

This chair has been compared favorably to the most expensive Herman Miller chairs. I wouldn't know since the Herman Miller Chairs were out of my price range. But to say this is a great, comfortable chair is truly an understatement.
