FAQs
The LiberNovo Omni is the world’s first dynamic ergonomic chair, featuring a Bionic FlexFit backrest and chip-controlled dynamic support, powered by a battery to provide real-time adjustments for personalized comfort. In contrast, the Herman Miller Aeron relies on a static mesh design, the Steelcase Leap offers manual lumbar adjustments, and the Humanscale Freedom has a simpler auto-recline feature. Omni’s dynamic tracking technology adapts to your movements, delivering a more flexible and comfortable experience.
Omni’s Bionic FlexFit backrest, powered by an integrated chip, offers 6 dynamic adjustment modes, with an 80mm backrest and 100mm seat depth adjustment, precisely conforming to your spine for all-day comfort.
The Omni is equipped with a 2200mAh 12V built-in battery, and its battery life depends on usage: with 1 full traction stretch cycle per day, the battery lasts up to 30 days; if you only occasionally use the motor adjustment buttons (e.g., 3 adjustments per day), the battery can last up to 1 year. The battery powers the chip-controlled dynamic and massage features, requiring minimal charging, making it ideal for extended office or home use.
The Omni offers an electric massage with a 50mm deep spinal stretch, controlled by the chip-driven backrest movement, precisely relieving back tension. Unlike the static support of Herman Miller or Humanscale chairs, Omni’s massage feature provides a relaxing experience during breaks, similar to the soothing effects of a high-end massage chair.
Yes, the Omni is designed for prolonged sitting. Its dynamic support encourages micro-movements, reducing fatigue from static postures. The zoned foam seat cushion, with three hardness levels (firm at the back to support the sit bones, softer at the front to reduce leg pressure), improves blood circulation, matching the comfort of the Steelcase Leap but with smarter dynamic adjustments.
Omni’s Bionic FlexFit backrest and three-layer conforming design (skin-friendly elastic layer, pressure-relief wrapping layer, and 8 aerospace-grade elastic panels) provide soft yet deep back support, similar to the pixelated design of the Herman Miller Embody but with greater dynamism. The hydrophilic foam headrest offers 5kg of neck support, breathable and comfortable, surpassing the fixed neck support of the Aeron. User feedback indicates Omni’s seat cushion is thicker than the Aeron’s, ideal for those who prefer a softer feel.
the chair is great once you get the chair adjusted its the most conferrable chair i have ever owned.
The only issues i have had is that the spine massage when you turn it off it doesn't revert back to the lumbar settings you have setup so you have to start over every time. the second issue is that the buttons are easy to bump and change the settings accidentally. if there was a lock feature for the buttons and it would restore to the previous state on the lumbar support this chair would move from a 4 start to a 5!
My wife loves the chair. I bought it for her along with a few other things as part of a Valentine’s Day gift. Shipping was pretty fast. It arrived in three separate shipments, which made sense because the boxes are large. Setup was easy and took about 15 minutes, and the directions for both the chair and the footrest were very clear. I am not much of a chair guy, but my wife says it is probably the most comfortable chair she has used. She has lower lumbar issues and it has helped a lot. We are 100 percent satisfied.
I _lived_ in an Aeron during the 1990’s dot-com boom often pulling months of 12- to 18-hour days over the course of nearly 3 years—several months in a size 3; the rest in size 2. Aeron’s mesh pellicle will always run cooler than foam, but I’ll explain why its trade-off’s are nowhere near worth it to me:
First off, Herman-Miller themselves state the Aeron’s pellicle material is _designed_ with a useful life of 1 year, at which time the owner is _expected_ to replace those components, which I only learned many years later. Mine never was: the hard-plastic front gouged into the back of my thighs so badly my feet and thighs fell asleep constantly, the top on the size 2 gouged into my neck, climbing out of the chair became arduous. The Aeron’s tension increased with recline so there could be no such thing as a comfortable setting both at shallow and deep inclines. The armrests hurt my elbows and didn’t reposition much. No headrest. The wheels were too easy to move, so repositioning myself in the chair always meant fighting to stay-put at my desk.
I’ve never sat in an Embody but its adjustable front is made of hard plastic that cuts into the thighs. Its armrests are a joke.
I took a hard look at Anthros but the Omni’s responsive 2-part backrest easily won-out, plus I really love the shoulder support the Omni offers, whereas Anthros is _designed_ to deny that.
I bought The Omni Standard Bundle in Moss Green (45 cm depth) at its “Early Bird” discount. This review is based on 10 days in the chair (7 with the foot/leg-rest) averaging over a dozen hours a day. I am roughly 5’ 8” with a 32-33” waist, 33” inseam, a fairly flat belly, and a fairly short torso. My legs overhang significantly but for me the cushion support is _ideal_, tapering gently away as my thighs narrow. The seams don’t even register to sit against.
The recline deserves special mention. The fact the arms slide back with you while the headrest telescopes down into the back column is absolute genius and a dream come true that just feels so _natural_.
The feet roll and swivel _in virtually perfect silence_. The legs’ slope, length, and spread makes them _perfect_ for perching my feet. The neckrest is a breeze to install and positions securely. The armrests’ lowest position is perfect for my short torso. The ease with which the armrest pads move is a double-edged sword: I like that they don’t interfere with dragging them back with you or bellying-up to a desk, but I could stand their being _a little_ stiffer. They’re durable but soft and don’t hurt to use for long sessions.
I’ve found that a fairly aggressive lumbar setting is my preference in this chair because of the way the 2-portion backrest responds to the lumbar piston effectively helping scoop upward to support my middle back and shoulders, which in turn angles my shoulders back while sort-of rotating their corners out forwards which keeps the bowed backrest from making me feel like I’m cupped inward, and then my neck comfortably, naturally tilts back against the neckrest.
My choice of lumbar setting encourages recline past “Focus” @ 109 degrees to what LiberNovo recommends as the more often used “Solo Work” @ 120 degrees. “Soft Recline” @ 135 degrees erases any noticeable sensation of weight-bearing throughout my hips, back, and shoulders and is my preference for anytime productivity’s not paramount. Angling the armrests inward during “Soft Recline” is _perfect_ with a game controller.
The full recline “Spine Flow” @ 160 degrees left me dumfounded after 1st use because I’d never experienced any force _against gravity_ like that in my life. I sat there several minutes afterward in a blissed-out daze. The “springy” feeling in my back afteward lasted into to the next morning, plus the hip pain I’d been experiencing the past few months was drastically lessened. It was _phenomenal_. I’ve used it at least once most days since. (When the cycle ends mine always returns to where I had it before, which is appreciated.)
In the Aeron I tucked my feet all the time to avoid thigh fatigue but I’ve had that impulse not _once_ in the Omni.
I don’t run hot so haven’t experienced heat build-up.
The foot/leg-rest truly completes the package. It’s called Standard Bundle for good reason. Any Omni owner _owes it to themselves_. The slight angle upward gives such a nice counter-pressure to my knees and thighs, and keeps my ankles from feeling strained; the elevated, padded leg rest doubles as a half-leg-cross, too, with ankle or foot on it closer-in.
I know it may sound like a strange thing to praise a chair for, but _getting out_ of the Omni is a _joy_. I almost feel gently _lifted_ out of it. My back always feels so refreshed and light!
I’m worried about the 2-year electronics warranty, but for the money the value proposition remains a no-brainer. The Omni is a new high-water mark in ergonomic seating utility and comfort both. Bravo, LiberNovo, you’ve crafted a winner!
I love this innovative chair. My low back always be supported.
Having 4 different reclining settings and an option to change the lumbar support is very important to me since I'm taller than most people. Great chair!
Everything I hoped it would be! Comfortable, got here on time, customer service was fast and courteous, etc.
I couldn't be happier!
This is by far the best chair I have purchased. I have gone through many different chairs since I started working from home back in 2022. All prices ranges. The LiberNovo Omni Dynamic chair has been such a nice surprise! Now I actually look forward to starting work every morning!
I’ve tried a lot of “ergonomic” chairs over the years, but the Libernovo Omni is on a completely different level. The moment I sat in it, I could feel the difference in how it supports my lower back. The dynamic lumbar system actually moves with you, so whether I’m leaning forward to work or reclining during calls, my spine stays aligned without me constantly adjusting knobs or levers.
The build quality is outstanding—premium materials, smooth adjustments, and a rock‑solid frame that feels like it’s built to last. The seat comfort is exceptional too: supportive without being stiff, and comfortable enough for long workdays without any pressure points.
What surprised me most is how much it reduced my lower‑back fatigue. After a week of using it, I genuinely felt the difference in my posture and overall comfort. It’s the first chair that actually delivers on the promise of real ergonomic support.
If you’re on the fence, don’t be. The Omni is absolutely worth it. This is the chair I wish I had bought years ago.
I ordered this chair back when it was still a kickstarter. After ordering, there was a lot that concerned me. Strange YouTube ads, sponsored reviews, and what seemed to be bot comments praising the chair.
That said after receiving the chair and living with it for several months, I could not be more pleased. It is cheaper than some competitors , and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else. I use the 105 degree recline often, appreciate the adjustable lumbar, and even the ‘stretch feature’. Long term reliability of the motor is a reasonable concern, but with that exception, I could not recommend this chair more.
This chair beats out a HM Embody easily. The cushioning is great, not only is the material soft the fabric is soft, feels like I'm in bed. The tilt is great. The headrest is great. The arms are great, people talk about them moving easily but I think that's the point - I would be annoyed if it was harder or required a button press.
The one thing I've noticed, when in complete recline the seat height will decrease, meaning you have to bump it back up. The pressure increase on the back hydraulic may lead to some sort of pressure loss on the seat hydraulic.
Assembly was a little complicated but what are you going to do, the engineering is unique.
To my note about the embody, the stupid nodules are so uncomfortable and you have to lie to yourself to believe they aren't after spending $2K.
